Safety record

Most of what we haul is hazardous material. Here’s what federal roadside inspectors have found, and how we keep it that way.

What inspectors found

Over the last two years, federal and state inspectors stopped Farmers Oil trucks for 291 roadside inspections. Not one driver was put out of service.

An out-of-service order means an inspector found a problem serious enough to stop the truck or the driver on the spot. Lower is better. Our rates are well under the national average in every category.

DOT safety rating: Satisfactory, the highest rating FMCSA gives.

We fix our own tanks

Federal rules say hazmat tanks can only be repaired and tested by a certified (R-Stamp) shop. We own one.

Our shop, Route 66 Truck & Trailer in Afton, Oklahoma, is certified to repair MC-331 tanks, the pressure tanks that carry propane and anhydrous ammonia.

The shop has 12 full-service bays and has handled our tank work since 2011.
